How to Remove Any Sticker From Your Windshield or Bumper

There are as many types of stickers out there as there are reasons for wanting to remove them from your car. Maybe it's the VonDerAu Ford dealership logo you'd like to get rid of, or an aggressively political bumper sticker, or your niece decorated every door with glittery My Little Pony stickers.

Here's how to say goodbye to all evidence of any kind of sticker.

  • WD-40 or hair dryer
  • Razor blade extension scraper
  • Goo Gone
  • Glass Cleaner
  • Microfiber towel

For a sticker on glass, like the windshield, use a razor blade with a scraper extension to get under the edge of the sticker, and carefully scrape off. Spray the area with glass cleaner to encourage the adhesive to come off.

For a sticker on a painted surface, like the bumper, use your fingernail or a plastic razor to peel up the edges to avoid scratching the paint. If you have a hair dryer, use it to heat up the sticker, which will loosen the adhesive's hold. If you would rather avoid using heat (too much can burn the paint), spray under the edges with WD-40 instead.

Clean up any remaining tackiness with Goo Gone, or similar adhesive-removing product. Wipe clean with a microfiber towel.
