Imagine a lawn watering system so intuitive that you wouldn’t have to remember to turn it on and one that didn’t run when watering wasn’t necessary?

Two students at Clark Atlanta University did just that. The pair earned top honors in Ford Motor Company’s Historically Black Colleges & Universities Community Challenge recently by creating an innovative and responsive watering system.

The system monitors the amount of moisture in the soil and the weather forecast, adding water to the ground only when needed.

Pretty cool, huh?
