Ford says an estimated 8,000 2017 Ford Super Duty trucks must be looked over and inspected for a fuel tank strap reinforcement. If one is not installed, VonDerAu Ford will put one in for free as a provision against probable fuel leaks.

Affected vehicles include cars created from Aug. 10, 2016, to Sept. 17, 2016, at Kentucky Truck Plant.

What if I Recently Bought a Super Duty Truck?

This recall is significant because the apparatus could fall out of place, and onto the ground. If this occurs, it could cause a possible fuel leak, and if it’s near an ignition site, it could greatly escalate the chance of igniting a fire. However, it should be noted that Ford has not heard of any accidents associated with this problem.
